Mold Remediation Certifications:

  • IICRC AMRT
  • Texas Mold Remediation Contractor License #MRC1585
  • Texas Mold Remediation Company #RCO1466

How We Work:

  • In Texas, a Mold Remediation Contractor (MRC) can perform a mold remediation per standards set forth in the Texas Mold Regulations guidelines. However, mold testing has to be performed by a licensed Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC). Although some companies hold both licenses, they cannot be used together on the same project as it would be a conflict of interest.

  • If you think you might have a mold issue, you can contact a MAC to come inspect and test to identify types of molds and location of the mold. An MRC can also help you pinpoint the location and check for conditions and causes of the mold.

  • After a testing is performed and MAC has recommended a remediation be performed in his Assessment, he will then write a Mold Remediation Protocol which will outline the exact scope of work for the MRC. The MRC will then use the Protocol to create a proposal which will need to be agreed upon by the payee before work commences. In the event that the project meets the requirements for the state to be notified, the MRC will need to give written notice to the state and wait the required amount of time before stating project.

  • After remediation is completed, the MAC will perform “clearance testing” to confirm the affected area is safe. Once satisfactory results are obtained, the area can then be reconstructed or if no removal was required, inhabited again.

  • The clearance results are a “snap shot” of the affected area at the time the testing was performed. It is not a guarantee the area is not susceptible to mold in the future. In summary, the MAC and the MRC will inform the owners of the conditions and causes that led to the mold, and advise on how to correct, but cannot be held responsible for future mold growth once project is completed and cleared.
